Sometime ago, I was searching for a business to buy. I came across a gas station. It had a mechanic workshop with two or three bays, a self service car-wash as well as a Deli store. The asking price was $1.4 m. That was a great deal in a terrific location, but how in heaven would I raise that kind of money? Good news, SBA was ready to finance the purchase only if the buyer could raise $200, 000 as down payment. I scratched my head.

Bad news, I still couldn't raise that amount with bills and other commitments strangling my neck.

Then this quote jumped into mind “How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight…,” How about twenty, forty, sixty? The progression is alarming. There is power in compounding or unity.

Imagine if I was able to get two hundred people with $1k each, I would have raised the $200k. SBA would have financed the rest. In three to six years the loan would be paid off. We could even attract grants that we won’t have to pay back. You see where I'm going.

Now! This is not a pyramid scheme where your success depends on the number of people you bring. Here, your success depends on your financial contribution and how long you stay. It is also not a money doubling scheme where your investments are doubled within a month. No investment has ever produced fifty percent returns within thirty days. Also, this is not a get rich quickly syndrome.

This is about pooling resources together for investment and business ownership.
